Harry scores in the derby!

Friday, 22nd October, 2010
Well it was only in a PES simulation of the upcoming match but still, Harry got on the scoresheet as Galatasaray drew 1-1 with Fenerbahce. The real game will be played on Sunday night (Monday 3:00am AEDT) and it is hoped Harry and Lucas along with Milan Baros will be fit for the match. So far this week the two Aussies haven't taken part in the training sessions, rather focusing on their fitness and conditioning with their personal physio. Frank Rijkaard and Johan Neeskens have left by 'mutual consent' and club legend Hagi has been hired to manage the team for the rest of the season.

Harry MIA as Gala embarrassed 2-4 at home

Monday, 18th October, 2010
Galatasaray were embarrassed 2-4 at home against Ankaragucu. Harry however saved his blushes as he picked up an injury during the morning training session and was taken out of the matchday squad. The extent of Harry's injury is unknown but reports over the coming days should determine whether Harry will be fit for the Fenerbahce derby next weekend. Lucas Neill was also out of action for last night's match along with Gala's captain Arda Turan.

Milan Baros was the only shining light in the match as he scored a brace to try reduce the deficit. However he had to be stretchered off the field after pulling something in his left leg in the 82nd minute. Milan then limped back to the locker room but was sent off with a standing ovation. The reception was much different however for the rest of the team as they were greeted with boos and jeers after the final whistle.

Following the Australia-Paraguay match, Harry made a quick stopover in the UK to visit his family before returning back to Istanbul where he was greeted with a wet and cold training session.

Seventh placed Galatasaray host ninth placed Ankaragucu this weekend (Mon 02:00 AEDT). Lucas Neill and Arda Turan are the big names set to miss the match with Milan Baros questionable, though he has resumed training with the team. With Milan Baros coming off an injury, Galatasaray may play with Harry upfront before substituting Baros on later in the match. Galatasaray will be hoping all their big names will make it for the next round (though Arda won't make it as he'll be recovering from surgery) where they travel to play Fenerbahce. Currently only one point separates the two Istanbul giants and Galatasaray will be looking to snatch some more points and move up the table. Due to the timing of Harry's past injuries, he hasn't fully featured in the Istanbul derby so he'll be looking forward to next week's trip across the Bosphorus, where hopefully he might nick a goal, or two.

Gala go down 2-1

It was a night to forget for the Galatasaray faithful as their team lost 2-1. The match was pretty much over after the first 10 minutes with Lucas Neill bringing down the opposition in the penalty area in the first 60 seconds of the match resulting in a successful penalty before a free kick just after the 10th minute made it 2-0.

Harry played all 90 minutes and was deployed as the sole striker in Milan Baros' absence. In the first half Harry saw very little action near the goal area due to the tight defense surrounding him. The beginning of the second half offered very little hope until one play saw Harry on the right wing feeding the ball to Pino who crossed it to Mismovic infront of goal however he fired his shot over the bar. On the 75th minute, a moment of brilliance by Baris Ozbek saw him break the tight defense and score a goal. The goal seemed to revitalise the entire team and they began attacking more confidently. However it all came a little too late and the closest they came to scoring was in the 93rd when Sabri crossed the ball into the box for Harry to head it however it went straight into the goalkeeper's hands.

Eleven photos from the match have been added to the Super Lig gallery.
